Supporters of the Day: Dogs

Our final supports as Supporters of the Day (before we move on to soutiens) are the now very famous pet dogs granted to their owner, Very Rev. Iain Torrance Kt, KCVO. 

Here are his arms impaled with the arms of the Dean of the Chapel Royal of Scotland and the arms of the Dean of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle. The painting is by Yvonne Holton, Dingwall Pursuivant of Arms and Herald Painter. 

The two long-haired miniature dachshunds who appear as supporters were Maud (the black and tan) and Cassiopea (the chocolate). I understand Maud was the dominant of the two which is why she has the bone!
