Local Government Heraldry 1929-1975

Continuing our survey of Lyon Office postcards, we have the first of three showing the arms of County Councils are (re-)defined by the 1929 Local Government (Scotland) Act.  While tax-payers (ok the present writer) may grumble about the way in which Scotland is constantly reorganised, it is good to see the way in which local authorities have constantly refreshed their images at the wells of local history and industry.
