Another fine heraldic painting in the HSS Collection is of arms which were never recorded in the PRAABS at all, perhaps because they were planned, at least to judge from the date of the painting, just as the Second World War broke out.
The arms belonged to Ian R.H. Stewart FSA Scot and were painted for him, as the note on the back says, by one of his colleagues at the London County Council, Willie Hughes in 1939.
