A kind friend has given me the greetings cards painted by Robert Brown of the Queen's Beasts - the heraldic animals selected at the time of the Coronation to display the Queen's ancestry along the lines of the statues at Hampton Court which carry out the same function for Henry VIII and Jane Seymour.
The scans do scant justice to the quality of the paintings but here they are:
The Unicorn of Scotland:
The Black Bull of Clarence
The Dragon of Wales
The Falcon of the Plantagenets
The Griffin of Edward III
The Lion of England
The White Greyhound of Richmond
The White Lion of Mortimer
The Yale of Beaufort
