George Henry Garfield Tilling KStJ RIP

We hear with sadness of the death of our most senior member, Henry Tilling who died on Wednesday 23rd January on the eve of his 95th Birthday.

His funeral will take place in Roslyn Chapel, Midlothian, at 2.00pm on Thursday 7th February, the celebrant will be his old friend Bishop Cameron.

Apart from his involvement with the Priory of Scotland of the Order of St John, Henry was a former Editor and Committee Member of the Heraldry Society of Scotland. The Order's funeral pall will be used at the Service.

The blazon of Henry's arms is:

Blazon: Per pale Sable and Azure, on a pale Or in chief a pheon point upwards and in base two lacemakers' bobbins in saltire Gules.
Crest: a garb Vert banded Argent
