Crest of the Day: Sir Robert Menzies

Sir Robert Gordon Menzies, KT, AK, CH, QC, FAA, FRS ( 1894 – 1978), was an Australian politician who twice served as Prime Minister of Australia, in office from 1939 to 1941 and again from 1949 to 1966. He was Australia's longest-serving prime minister, serving over 18 years in total.

His banner and crest are now on display in the Scots Church, Collins St, Melbourne.



Crest: a demi-lion Gules its dexter paw upon a baton Sable, about its head a chaplet of Menzies heath and issuant therefrom a panache of five plumes Gules and Argent.
