Cardinal Duke of York

On this, Henry Benedict Stuart's 295th birthday, we remember the historic visit on St Andrew's Day 2012 of the Duke of Gloucester to the Pontifical Scots College in Rome to view the Stuart memorabilia. While there, they visited the new Cardinal Henry Benedict Stuart Lecture Theatre and unveiled a print of the Cardinal's coat of arms, the use of which was kindly donated by the owner, the Comitato Enrico Cardinale Stuart, and the artist, Marco Foppoli. During the ceremony, the Duke of Gloucester made diplomatic reference to his royal "cousin".
