Today's entry was kindly suggested by Elizabeth Roads: Inverness Field Club, founded in 1875 recorded these arms in 1990 (75/7). The Club is a learned society which organizes lectures and excursions and gives out bursaries.
The blazon reads:Per pale Or and Gules a bend counterchanged, on a chief Argent a reproduction of the Knocknagael boar Sable between two Scots primrose flowers (Primula scotica) Purpure.
The Knocknagael Boar Stone is a large Pictish carving dating to about AD 600, dominated by the image of a wild boar. It can be viewed at the Highland Council’s headquarters:
