Historical Objects in Heraldry II

We continue the exploration of antiquities in Scottish heraldry with  the arms of Lord Forsyth of Drumlean. When Michael Forsyth was Secretary of State for Scotland, in 1996, the Stone of Scone was returned to Scotland. To mark his role in the event, Sir Michael, as he was at the time of the grant, included a picture of the Stone of Scone in his arms:

The blazon reads: Argent, a chevronel engrailed Gules between in chief two griffins respectant Azure armed and membered Gules, crowned Or, and supporting a square block of roughly dressed sandstone Proper with a ring at each end Sable (being a representation of the Stone of Scone) and in base a hurt charged with a mascle Argent.

It is, I think, good heraldry to blazon the object properly, as here, rather than simply say "a representation of....."
