The United Kingdom Accession Proclamation having been made in London the day before by Garter, King of Arms, the Scottish proclamations were made by the Lord Lyon on Sunday at the Mercat Cross, where we were accompanied by the Lord Provost, Baillies, Senators of the Court of Session and the Sheriff Principal in the proclamation to the City of Edinburgh and then after we had marched with the army up to the drawbridge of Edinburgh Castle, Lyon made a second proclamation to the people of Scotland.
